Gear West is accepting ski requests for next year’s top level racing skis. As in previous years, we will be working with our vendors to hand pick the best skis from national and international racing departments. Getting on our list will ensure you have the best fitting, fastest possible race skis.

In our effort to help improve and support American Nordic skiing, the board of the National Nordic Foundation is excited to announce that it be sponsoring the 2013 USSA SuperTour Finals and U.S. Cross Country Skiing Distance Nationals. These important season-concluding events are hosted by Far West Nordic in Truckee, California April 4-11.

With the classic mass start race in Fairbanks we wrapped up a busy month of racing on both sides of the Atlantic, and building a bridge between US and Norwegian Junior skiing. In February, with help from the National Nordic Foundation and the US Embassy in Oslo, 12 American Juniors and two US coaches went to Lillehammer to participate in the Norwegian Junior National Championships, and in March six Norwegian J1 skiers and two coaches came to Fairbanks for our JN’s. Each trip was a great success.

The Craftsbury Spring Tour is a go for the weekend of March 22-24 at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. While it rains steadily outside today here in the northern VT and through most of New England, we can still report a solid, if soggy, base. I really appreciate being part of a company that is truly international. Toko has 30 main distributors that bring Toko to diverse parts of the world.
