Everywhere else flowers are blooming and thoughts are turning to spring. But here in West Yellowstone, we got over a FOOT of new, amazing snow in the last couple of days. The trails are in amazing condition and no longer require trail fees (donations are always welcome though). We're still grooming, though it's intermittently and with the ginzu. As you can see from the pictures, the skies are blue bird and the smiles are huge!
At Gear West we have a strong understanding of flex data and how it relates to glide properties of skate skis. Looking at classic skis has been more involved because there are more variables compared to skating, both kick and glide. Over the past year we have spent considerable time looking at bad, good and great classic skis. We look at how the flex pattern changes with load and the static shapes at a given skier body weight. We take the gathered flex data and draw a parallel to how the ski actually performs on the trails.

The world’s best cross-country skier Marit Bjørgen has signed a 4-year contract with the Swedish functional sportswear brand Craft. The freshly signed contract means that the Norwegian superstar will use Craft’s training and racing clothes as of May 2014 until the 2018 Olympics in South Korea.
