Well, running this spring couldn’t have been much better. I trained smart, I was feeling fast and had a handful of satisfying results. Then, as most of you already know, I tore up my knee, with the help of my loving mutt, Montana.  It has been a really long road back, mentally and physically,  even [...]

After level 4 ski walking intervals at Marquette Mountain this past Wednesday Dan and I drove to my parent’s house in Minnesota. I spent the next 4 days training twice a day in 90 degree heat but it was AWESOME. Summer in Marquette so far has been pretty cool so it was a nice change. [...]

After the workout this morning Laura Dewitt and I headed out to Sten’s cabin. Its pretty much right on the ski trails and its a great spot for picking blueberries! Since getting home from Utah I have been back to training in Marquette. Last week I had three intervals sessions that went well. Tuesday was level [...]

For the past 8 days Dan and I have been in Utah. Dan was working at the Outdoor Retailers Show in Salt Lake City and I have been training in Park City. Things are going well. I rollerskied twice with US Ski Team coaches Pat Casey and Pete Vordenberg but for the most part I [...]

After some brutally long hours striping all of the old graphics off of the motor-home we finally have a new look to our home on wheels. You’ll notice that the back is still pretty blank. Well… that just means we have some space available to fill. If you, or someone you know, would like to have [...]

I haven’t written an update in a little bit but here we go again. The name of the game is still rehab and will be for a while.  While the first weeks of rehab have been pretty slow, things are starting to come together and I am feeling pretty good about what lies ahead. Last Thursday [...]

Today I turned 25. I had a wonderful day- skate rollerski in the morning, BBQ, a cake sent to me from my best friend Katie in California, wine and spending the day with Dan.

48 Degrees, rain and wind. Happy July!  On Sunday after a 3 hour classic rollerski with Laura Dewitt, Dan and I drove to the Twin Cities for a couple days. It was a short but good trip. I went on a nice road bike ride with my dad and I spent the majority of  Tuesday sleeping, [...]

I just got home from my first post op appointment and got to see the pics of what went on inside my knee during the surgery. Pretty cool.  There must have been something on the lens because they are a little cloudy but I was able to see the FastFix anchor that they put in. [...]

I just got home from the Twin Cities and had a care package from my friends at Hammer Nutrition waiting for me.  Jason sent me a couple of things to help aide in my recovery, which is coming along pretty well and also very slowly.  I tore open the box to reveal a couple of [...]

Well, it’s been a week since I had my knee surgery, but it definitely seemed a lot longer than that.  I’m not used to spending this much time on the couch but I am quickly becoming a professional.  I’m also becoming extremely proficient at maneuvering the electric shopping carts but I get lots of weird [...]
