268 trail runners and off season Nordic Skiers turned out on a hot sunny summer morning for the annual Elephant’s Perch Backcountry Run(10 miles/16.5 miles), north of Ketchum. Knight Collapses in Finish Stretch of Mt. Marathon Race, Recovering Well

Brent Knight, an Olympic hopeful with APU collapsed a block from the finish of the prestigious July 4th weekend mountain race on Mt. Marathon in Seward, Alaska. The results are out, and Nordic skiers dominated the 33rd annual Pole, Pedal, Paddle in Bend, Oregon. The fastest posted time of 1:41.58 was from men’s pairs team Eric Martin and Paul Parsons, two high school Nordic coaches. The fastest Elite Male was XC Oregon skier Marshall Greene, winning his fourth consecutive PPP in 1:43.29. The Bend Bulletin reports that Olympians Torin Koos (USST) and Lars Flora (APUNSC) will race the 33rd annual Pole, Pedal, Paddle in Bend, Oregon tomorrow.
